A

Kelly. I want everyone to know about this anointed author and
speaker, and I hope you will run (not walk) to the first speaking
engagement, of Matthews that you are able to attend! If
you cannot get to one of his talks, go to his web site and buy
the tape set called, Matthew Kelly ~ Live, and/or
the tape, Dont just try ~ Train. Or any
of his books!
Matthew Kelly is truly a rare gift to our world. Dont
miss him ~ you will be so blessed! Go to: www.matthewkelly.org.
Here is an excerpt from his book, A Call to Joy. Its
very difficult to chose what to share here, as I love all of his
writings and have been so inspired and energized by them; but
here are some of his thoughts on prayer:
The
best forms of prayer are simple. Once upon a time there was
a milkman in a small town in France. Each day he would spend
considerable time sitting the the same pew near the back of a
small church. One day, out of curiosity, the priest asked
him what he did there each day. The man replied, I
look at the good God and the good God looks at me.
Simplicity
is the key to perfection.
In
the last four years, my life and attitudes have changed considerably.
My focus has changed from an emphasis on getting ahead
to one on growing and becoming. The experience of hearing
God speak to me has been a great joy in my life, but this experience
did not change my life. Prayer changed my life.
Constant
prayer transforms our lives.
On
many occasions the Father spoke to me, encouraging me to engage
in a gentle mental conversation with Christ:
Go today and sit in front of the tabernacle and speak
to My Son Jesus. Tell Him about all your worries and fears,
and He will remove all your anxieties. Tell Him about your
plans for the day and the joys and the problems you expect to
encounter. Too many of you only tell Him of problems. Many
beautiful things are happening; share them with Him in prayer. Speak
to Him about everything that is happening in your life. As
your friend, He wants to know.
